Having been raised in Mexico, my rich culture allowed me to learn about the importance of Dia de los Muertos. Unlike Halloween, Day of the Dead is not a spooky or scary holiday. Contrary to that, it is a day to pray for and remember those we love that have passed away. We honor them with traditional altares, festivities and offerings. The Catrinas that I make are an iconic symbol of this part of me and are dedicated, not only to the love of my upbringing culture and its rich traditions, but also of my love towards those that I have lost along the way.
